The market and development trends of solventfree flexible packaging adhesive

Presentation Description：
Flexible packaging is one of the largest and fastest growing markets in the global packaging industry, because it is a convenient and economical way to preserve, distribute, and pack food items. But the use of solvent-based adhesives has brought many environmental problems.
This presentation explores the problems and solutions in the development of solvent-free lamination technology for flexible packaging, and summarizes the pros and cons of different solvent-free formulation systems. Due to the continuous update of food safety regulations, such as restrictions on epoxy silane coupling agents and primary aromatic amines. Our group innovatively introduces a polyurethane prepolymer, which can be used in solvent-free adhesives to avoid the use of silane coupling agents. At the same time, primary aromatic amines can degrade faster by optimizing the synthesis process. Through this approach, we have developed a series of products. They can improve the efficiency while meeting the regulations, promote the further development of solvent-free packaging adhesive, and help the packaging industry to further develop into green and security development.
