    Presentation title:
External wall tile peeling prevention method using transparent water-based urethane resin

Currently in Japan, tiles are widely used for external walls of condominiums and other concrete buildings because of their diverse design and high durability. However, tiled external walls are at risk of floating over time due to temperature changes, solar radiation, rainwater, and earthquakes, which can lead to peeling and, in the worst case, cause personal injury accident.
For such floating tiled external wall, it is necessary to repair them by anchor pinning epoxy resin injection method, tile replacement method, or structural work for complex repair of external wall to prevent tiles from peeling off.
In particular, structural work for complex repair of external wall covers external walls with an anti-peeling layer consisting of fiber-reinforced polymer cement or resin-based coating material, and is characterized by its ability to prevent the lifting and peeling of tiled external walls that may occur in the future. Another feature of the method is that it can be reinforced without removing existing tile external walls, thereby reducing the production of construction waste.
However, the conventional method which covers external walls with inorganic coating materials such as polymer cement, is unable to take advantage of the texture of existing tiles. Therefore, there is a growing need for a composite repair method for external walls that can utilize the design of existing tiles by using transparent resin.
We have been developing structural work for complex repair of external wall based on transparent water-based urethane resin. In addition, most of the coating materials used in this method are water-based, making it an environmentally friendly method.
This presentation will introduce the construction specifications and features of this method.
