Examination of the Influence of Construction Practices and Climate on the Adhesion Strength of Exterior Wall Tiles

In laboratories, experiments are conducted according to standards, but in practical applications, the environment cannot be as controlled and straightforward as in a lab. Often, unavoidable variables are encountered, leading to discrepancies between laboratory results and real-world outcomes. Construction sites, compared to laboratories, have many uncontrollable factors, including the impact of environmental climate on adhesive strength during the installation process. This study discusses the theoretical and practical issues faced in real-world applications and the construction environment. We compared commercially available organic and inorganic tile adhesives in both laboratory and outdoor settings. The results indicate that environmental conditions and material selection significantly affect adhesive stability. Therefore, choosing appropriate materials and suitable installation methods is crucial in outdoor applications due to the influence of climate.
